The chemical fertilizer company in Năvodari, one of the main manufacturers of chemical fertilizers in our country, and its partner SC Business Agro Consulting SRL in Girov, Neamţ county, a company managed with a great deal of professionalism, dedication and scientific accuracy by Vasile Pop-Silaghi, have made public, at the beginning of November, the final results of their corn crop nutrition technology, obtained on a demonstration plot of land cultivated in Mărgineni, Neamț county.

Two fields were cultivated in Mărgineni, using two maize hybrids from two different seed manufacturers, applying three fertilization solutions. “We have gathered together here today to harvest what we have grown throughout the summer. We have regularly presented the evolution of the demonstration  maize crop fields and we have now the chance to see them in their full maturity stage (…) Today, we will discuss about the crop plant  and soil nutrition products and technologies supplied by the Năvodari fertilizer factory”, said Vasile Pop-Silaghi at the opening of the event.

Cost reduction per hectare by optimizing fertilization

After presenting his team of local representatives, including Raluca Antonesei, Marius Mateiciuc and Cătălin Ghimpu, the commercial director for the south-east area of CICh Năvodari, Mrs. Cerasela Achim, said: “There are new challenges lying ahead, and when we think we know it all, God shows us that we have still a lot to learn.  That is why we have several solutions in stock. We strive to see which of the solutions fits best to each and every zone and to obtain a cost that will generate the highest possible crop yield. The conclusions of this endeavor will help us acquire more knowledge of plant nutrition. ”

15.5 tons of corn kernels per hectare

A multifunctional experimental crop set up in the Nemţean field in spring by the mechanic Delu Vasile Pantaziu, using the Monosem seeder, adjusted to the technological optimum. Thus, the seeding machine, skillfully operated by Bogdan Văcariu, started harvesting in front of the public the   14-acre demonstration lot.

The representatives of the two companies weighed the harvest and concluded as follows: “We have obtained yields ranging from 8,200 kg of corn grains per hectare on the control lot to a record crop of 15,480 kg / ha on the lot fertilized with NG urea and with Cerealfos Amesal.

I grow 110 ha of corn fields. I have harvested 70 ha so far and I have obtained almost 1,000 tons of corn. So, under these circumstances, I’m not happy with these figures. However, considering that I chose not to apply a state-of-the-art technology to match the genetic potential of each hybrid, but an economic one, the nearly 15.5 t / ha I have obtained in one of variants are very rewarding to me! By comparison, I have also had an intermediate solution, i.e. to apply NG urea only, and in this case I’ve obtained 13,410 kg / ha”, explained Vasile Pop-Silaghi.

A satisfactory yield

From next year, the farmer plans to apply the two corn crop nutrition technologies, though he intends to make some changes in the fertilization scheme. He explained that on the demonstration field he had also applied a classic NPK 20; 20; 0 complex fertilizer, in one variant, and a triple NPK 16 fertilizer,  in another variant. However, he explained that he planned to apply the fertilization recipes from CICh, based on a controlled release of the nitrogen from urea, combined with the Amesal technology-based complex fertilizer. “To me, it is a very good yield, with 68 RON per ton of grains spent on fertilizers”, concluded the host of the event.

Nutrition accounts for about 35-40% of total expenses

The commercial director for the south-eastern area of CICh Romania recommends to farmers that the entire amount of phosphorus be administered before sowing or at the latest at the time of sowing, if the seeders are provided with fertilizers for row fertilization. “We have the full range of nitrogen-, phosphorus- and potassium-based fertilizers, as well as the microelements-based fertilizer range, so that, depending on the farmer’s needs and on the soil mapping, we may be able to devise the best and most effective fertilization plan and technology. Fertilizers account for about 35-40 percent of the  farmer’s total spending per hectare, which is not a negligible amount. What matters is that the money is invested in such a way as to eventually generate the expected harvest increases and the highest profit rate to the farmer”, explained Cerasela Achim.

The discussions and the exchange of knowledge and information between the nearly one hundred Modovian maize growers who attended the event and the specialists in plant nutrition from CICh Romania were held in a countryside-like setting, at the Ancuței Inn, while enjoying a traditional Romanian meal.

Cerasela Achim

Cerasela Achim:The CICh Romania technical team has developed two technological fertilization solutions. The first concerns the phosphorus chemical element and is called the Amesal technology (a synthesis polymer of the latest generation, which ensures the controlled release of the phosphorus mass with dispersion inhibitor). On the nitrogen side, we intervened with the controlled release NG technology (with nitrification inhibitors). When applied for 90-100 days, this technology supplies a constant and continuous amount of nitrogen to crop plants, in any weather conditions, which means a cycle three times greater than in the case of the classic nitrogen”.

CICH ROMÂNIA – FOR A HEALTY GROWTH

Năvodari Chemical Fertilizer Company, a company with entirely Romanian private capital, was established in 2002. Its mission, highlighted also by its slogan “For a healthy growth!”, is to support through efficient solutions the plant nutrition, regardless of the type of agricultural works and soils. The fertilizers are produced in Năvodari, Constanţa county.

Amesal 200 N is a state-of-the-art synthetic polymer, with a high cation exchange capacity, which preferably binds to metal (iron, aluminum) cations in acidic soils and to calcium in basic soils. This mechanism protects the phosphorus released into the soil by the well-known downgrading into dicalcium and tricalcium phosphorus, which would block phosphorus. Therefore, the phosphorus contained in the fertilizer granules that are treated with Amesal will be much more available to the crop plants, at a performance rate that tends to double the yield of the units that are present in the fertilizer. The Amesal 200 N line is currently the most advanced range of complex fertilizers, with a maximum phosphorus efficiency. Fertilizers are cost-effective and have the optimum price / quality ratio. They are suitable not only for growing extensive crops (such as cereals), but also for horticulture (vegetables and fruit trees), owing precisely to the complete range of fertilizers rich in SO3 or in potassium sulphate.
